Parcel Pro Q&A

Who is Parcel Pro, Inc.?

Parcel Pro, Inc. is the leading provider of insured, high-value shipping services to the jewelry industry. Jewelers Mutual formed a strategic alliance with Parcel Pro in 2003 to provide our commercial customers with a shipping alternative.

Parcel Pro has been providing insured shipping services since 1997, serving the jewelry industry exclusively. Jewelers across the nation utilize Parcel Pro to ship and obtain insurance for their merchandise against loss or damage on a per parcel basis. Parcel Pro utilizes national shipping carriers (i.e. UPS, DHL, FedEx) to transport jewelers' merchandise.

Parcel Pro's preferred shipping provider is United Parcel Service (UPS). Insurance coverage is provided through "A-rated" St. Paul Travelers Insurance.

Parcel Pro has offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taiwan, and Torrance, Calif.

Examples of jewelers' shipping needs:

  • A jeweler in Illinois needs to ship a diamond ring to a setter or retailer located in New York.
  • A jewelry manufacturer in Virginia needs to ship jewelry goods directly to the customer, the setter, the photographer, and/or the traveling salesperson.
  • A jeweler in Toronto needs to return an item to a vendor in New York City.
  • A watch dealer needs to send a watch for repair to Switzerland.

How does the 5 to 20% discount work for JM insureds?

As a strategic partner with Jewelers Mutual, Parcel Pro offers a 5 to 20% discount to our business insureds in the United States and Canada. Within the United States, the discount applies to shipping and insurance via UPS, Parcel Pro's preferred shipping provider. The amount of the discount varies based on the geographic shipping zone and type of service (e.g., UPS Next Day Air(r), UPS Next Day Air Saver(r), and 2nd Day Air(r)). For JM insureds in Canada, the discount is available on the insurance portion only, and customers may use UPS or FedEx.

For international shipments, Parcel Pro offers a discount only on the insurance, not on the shipping charges. Customers may use UPS or FedEx.

To be eligible for the discount, list Jewelers Mutual as your current insurer on the Parcel Pro application. If you are an existing Parcel Pro customer, simply contact Parcel Pro to verify that you receive the discount.

A select number of high-volume jewelers may already receive a significant discount from Parcel Pro. These customers are not eligible for an additional discount.

Who can use Parcel Pro?

Approved jewelers who ship air/ground can utilize Parcel Pro's services. The services are available to manufacturers, retailers, designers, and bench jewelers. Parcel Pro caters to jewelers who ship once or twice a month, as well as those who ship hundreds of packages a day. No jeweler is too small or big. All jewelers must complete an application with Parcel Pro and be approved prior to using Parcel Pro's services.
